Walling

We seem to be really busy supplying walling right now, and I mean the Dry Stone Walling product. We’ve had a few hard weeks with the most awful weather, I thought I’d say that – just in case you hadn’t noticed. But then the skies turned, and the walling orders started pouring in. Our walling is great, the colours are so interesting, with the different hues of grey, strikes of orange, green and blue, but also beyond that – the Forest of Dean Pennant Sandstone Dry Stone Walling we supply from our quarry near Coleford, Gloucestershire is robust. It’s safe to use around fish, as it doesn’t break down the way other stone types do. It’s great for use near water features or even in them. It can be drilled without cracking or splitting and it will weather well, with lichen able to form if wanted, adding even more to the character of the stone. It can be sawn for steps, left ‘as dug, which means, literally, what  it looked like as it was extracted out of the quarry. So landscapers love it, its so diverse in its application. The walling can be fixed with mortar or laid without – ‘the traditional dry stone way’.  Eventually the walling will become a haven for some wildlife, even flowers will grow within its layers, it really is a beauty to behold.
